To Forge the Best Weapon

Yuan Batian wants the Loongstrike, and he comes for it while Peter Yeats, the smith who forged it, is weak. Peter gives up his life so the blade will not be taken, and sends his son Ted out of Blade Hills with it. Peter's own master, Mo Lianshan, arrives to find what is left. Ted loses contact with him and with his sister, Hong Ying, and Blade Hills falls into decline over the next twenty years. Ted comes back with the Loongstrike to look for his family. The Todds are already at the gate, pushing for control of the forging resources Blade Hills still holds. Ted beats them off with the blade. Others are coming behind them.
