King of Shadows

The Shark Gang had Emily Ross cornered when Damian Vale and his adopted daughter Lily got her out. Damian is the king of the underworld and goes by the codename Zero, though Emily knows none of that when she hires him as her bodyguard. Her parents want nothing to do with a man they take for street trash, and they set one test after another for him, all of which he passes without appearing to try. Living close to her, working around her family's suspicion, the two of them get attached. Then the Shark Gang moves on the Ross Group itself, going after the company outright, and Damian has to stand up in the open under the name Zero to keep Emily out of their hands.
