The Love Fate Denied

Sophie Buist is dead, and she has five days to get Andre Cedeno to say he loves her. There was a break-in at the house on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary and she was stabbed. She rang Andre for help and he hung up on her, because he was with Betty, his first love. In the underworld she was given the soup that wipes a person's memory. She drank 99 bowls of it and still remembered Andre, so the old woman who serves it sent her back with a deadline. If he says he loves her before the five days are up, she lives. Sophie and Andre are the couple everyone in York talks about. For five years they loved each other and could not stand each other, and neither one managed to stay away. She goes back hopeful. Andre brings Betty into the house and tells Sophie, 'I will never love you.' Betty is the one who paid for the break-in. Andre has no idea, and he keeps turning his wife away.
