The Beggar's Verdict

Claire Stein runs a company. To find people worth backing, she puts on a beggar's clothes and sits out on the street, having promised that whoever gives her money will be paid back in the millions and set up for good, with a hundred people to be chosen this way. She sits for three days and nobody gives her anything. Then Jason Parker hands her a hundred dollars. She asks him for another hundred to see what he does, and he gives that too, without irritation and without asking anything back. When she asks what he needs, he says he needs a girlfriend to bring home to his mother. Claire tells him that from today she is his girlfriend. Jason gets her a decent set of clothes and takes her home. She tells his mother she is from the city and that her family has a company. The company is her own.
