The Warlord's Hidden Heir

The Liu family produced a single male heir in each of nine generations. The military governor Liu took seven concubines and had one son by them. The whole of the governor's residence indulged the boy. He was sent abroad as a child and studied there for more than ten years. When his studies ended he came back to China with the woman he was to marry. The couple ate dinner at a hotel the family owned. During the meal they gave offence to a man who was on his way to receive the young marshal. That man and other local bullies subjected the two of them to inhuman abuse. The governor arrived at the hotel.
