The Thug Plays A Spy

Ye Chen, chief instructor of the Dragon unit, is sent in to recover a stolen national treasure, the head of an ancient bronze Buddha. His cover is a street thug, and it puts him next to Shen Rushuang, chairwoman of the Tianqi Group, whom he is also there to protect. Lei Tai, who runs the local criminal outfit, comes at them repeatedly and Ye Chen breaks up each attempt. The cover costs him elsewhere. He cannot tell Mu Wanqing, his fiancee, who has waited years for him, what he actually is, and she takes what she sees at face value and leaves him. The Buddha head that surfaces turns out to be a fake, and working back from that reveals the leak inside his own organisation: Lin Yue, the Dragon unit secretary. She takes the real Buddha head, takes Shen Rushuang with her, and runs for open water. Ye Chen goes after them across the sea, and finishing the job means deciding what to do about the identity he has been carrying.
