Lucas Harrington and Joanna Collins meet over a contract for a rented girlfriend at $100,000 a day, to carry him through New Year's. He has more money than he can spend and a line of women after a share of it, and his family has another arranged marriage ready for him, which is what the contract is meant to solve. Joanna signs it even though she made her own millions and has no need for the money, and she has a reputation for being cold with people. The two of them go through drinks and dinners with his family. Lucas, who has never washed a dish in his life, ends up in an apron chopping vegetables.
