Miles paid for Wendy's rise. He backed her from her university days until she ran a business empire. Wendy pushed him off a rooftop and he died. Wendy's position was that Miles's money had tied her down and kept her from Jack, the good-looking one at their school. Miles came back to life at an earlier point. He stopped pursuing Wendy and set about his own affairs. Wendy came back at the same time. She held that her success had been her own doing and that this time she would have a good life with Jack. After the restart Miles no longer arranged his life around her. He took up with an heiress from a wealthy family. Jack was not what Wendy had pictured.
