Synopsis

Aaron lives with his mother in the South Empire and sells pork for a living. Women hold the power there and men are at the bottom, so gangs of girls provoke and humiliate him in the street and he swallows it, having no standing to answer back. Custom forbids men from practicing martial arts or cultivating at all. Aaron wants to fight on the battlefield and defend the country, and he trains in secret, keeping it from his mother. To get what he wants he enters the Martial Arts Contest over her objections. In the arena he starts learning where he came from, and his mother is the Queen.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
