Fallen Duke, Awakening the Trident of the Sea God

St. Bitter City holds its Talent Awakening Ceremony, with nobles and commoners in attendance. Arthur, a duke whose house has fallen, is there. His former fiancée, who is also his enemy, humiliates him in front of the assembly and puts him on the ground. The crowd calls him a failure. His family's inheritance is due to be taken from him at the ceremony, and the expectation in the hall is that he will lose all of it and be put out of the city. Arthur brings his palm down on the altar. Light comes out of it. What appears is the Sea God's highest artifact, missing for a thousand years, and the force of it holds the whole hall down.
