After a Wild Night, Pretty CEO and Child at My Door

Elias Vann and Renee Garner spend one night together and neither of them planned it. She runs a company as its CEO, and somebody has drugged her that evening. He has just given up the leadership of Nightfang, and the ceremony for that is the same night. He decides afterwards that the whole thing was a misunderstanding and does not go looking for her. Five years later she finds him, and she has their daughter with her. What put him at that ceremony goes back a long way. His sister was murdered. He was framed for a crime and sent to prison, and inside, the previous head of Nightfang took a liking to him and chose him as successor. He trained, took over, and built Nightfang into the strongest armed organization in the world, and by then he was also the strongest single fighter anywhere. None of that turned up the person who killed his sister, and he stepped down out of despair over it. After the ceremony he kept searching on his own, working as a security guard so that nobody would notice. That is what he is doing when Renee turns up with the child. He takes on being a father and a husband, and he uses what Nightfang made of him to keep Renee and the girl safe, while the search for the killer goes on.
