Demonbane

Apricot Blossom Village lies in country where people and demons live within reach of each other, and it keeps a demon slayer to stand between them. The slayer is Nathaniel Reid. The villagers turn against him and his wife betrays him, and a fox demon from the Emerald Hills sets a trap that leaves him near death and sealed away. He breaks the seal, comes back, exposes the demons' plot and kills the ones who did it to him. While he is doing that he finds demons being kept as slaves by humans. "People and demons are the same kind of life," he says. He frees them and joins with a half-demon girl against the demon king, who was behind the plot against him.
