Sophie Smith was sold to traffickers by her own father fifteen years ago. Her mother, Melissa, swore she would find her and built the family firm up in the years since, ending as its CEO. Sophie grew up as the adopted daughter of another family. Her adoptive mother is seriously ill, and Sophie has been working whatever jobs she can get to cover the treatment. The money she saved for it goes to her adoptive brother David Smith, who spends it on his girlfriend.
