Chance Morphy trained his body at the Skyward Sect for years. The sect's ancestor told him each time it came up that his talent was thin, and he took that as fact and kept quiet around the others. His body cultivation passed nine thousand layers in that time. The rank the sect had him at was the Foundation Phase, the bottom of its ladder. He also carried Divine Blood, which is rare. The Heretics moved on the sect. They knew what was in his blood and put terms to him that came down to handing it over, with his family and the woman he cared about set against the offer. He fought them instead. The strength he used did not match the rank he had been given or anything the ancestor had said about him.
