The Warlord Returns

Harrison comes home from the war and learns that his sister is dead, and that the man responsible is Karter, the fiancé she was going to marry. He does not go to the police. He puts on the same worn combat fatigues he came back in and walks into a banquet Karter is hosting, in front of all the guests, and tells him that his punishment will arrive in three days. Everyone in the room takes him for a broke veteran who wandered in off the street, and Karter treats him accordingly, which is exactly the assumption Harrison wants left in place while the three days run down. He is the Director of the FBI. Karter spends the interval trying to work out who he offended and how much it will cost to make it go away, and the reckoning that is being assembled around him is federal.
