Charlotte left her own family's name behind to marry Daniel when he had nothing, and what she wanted out of it was the promise he made her before the wedding, that there would never be anyone else. Five years went into building the company with him, and she believed she had it. Miranda came back from abroad and announced she would be keeping house for Daniel. She had known him a long time, and whatever was between the two of them went past the arrangement Charlotte was told about. Charlotte said what she could see. Daniel kept Miranda in the house anyway.
