Blade of the Exorcist

The Crimson Lotus Sect works quietly inside Drosa. The crises that come out of it run to paper puppets, illusions that hold a man inside a painting, and a demon fetus carried to term. Zeke Larson arrives in the middle of all this from the modern world and signs on with the Demon Wardens as a new recruit. The Demonbane System binds to him when he enlists. It teaches him combat techniques he has never trained in, and with thunder and fire he cuts down a tree demon that had been growing for a thousand years. He works out what the Crimson Lotus Sect is planning and breaks the plan up. Tristan Clark and Luna Sawyer fight beside him through the fog the sect puts up. He clears out the Shadow Devourer, kills the Four Vajras and goes into the sect's own house. Along the way he is made captain and then major, with the demon suppression authority of a whole prefecture in his hands.
