In the Celestial Realm spirit stones are lent at interest, and an immortal who cannot cover the debt is sent down to be reborn among mortals. Lu Ming, a Golden Immortal, borrowed on those terms, could not pay, and went down. His soul lands in the body of a compulsive gambler who had been killed over the same kind of debt. The gambler left a wife who cannot speak. She had been loyal to him and looked after him, and she was still treated cruelly for it. Lu Ming decides to begin his time as a human inside this marriage. The first thing he does is earn money, and then he works on refining pills that would give her back her voice.
