The Broken Triangle

Christian Shadforth sold his entire stake in the company and went home to accept the marriage his family had arranged for him. He had spent five years building that company from nothing with two women he had known since childhood, both of whom had once said they would marry him or nobody. A man had joined the firm two months earlier and both women took to him. Christian had been drinking over company business and brought up blood; when the new hire's account of things went against his, the two of them took the new hire's word. That was when he went to his family. The women assumed he was angry for the moment and would come back, on the reasoning that he would not walk away from the company or from them. The next thing they got from him was a wedding invitation.
