Victoria Hayes founded Hayes Technologies. She gave birth on the same day as her assistant and closest friend Melissa Voss, whose husband had died some time before. She said nothing at the time and exchanged them back. Ava grew up in the Hayes house as the heir. Melissa kept Evelyn, her own child by blood, and treated her badly. Eighteen years later, at Ava's birthday gala, Melissa told the guests that Ava was her daughter and made a claim on Hayes Technologies. Victoria produced evidence she had held since the night of the swap, which showed Ava to be her own child, and Melissa's claim collapsed in front of everyone there.
