Elise Hayes grew up in the countryside. Her mother has Alzheimer's and has been losing her memory. Elise did well at school and got into the finance program at one of the country's top universities, then took an office job. She had nobody backing her at the company, the staff above her leaned on her, and her probation was not converted into a permanent post. Her mother was by then close to no longer recognizing her. Elise ran into Blake Kensington, who had been drugged, and the two of them spent the night together. She was told soon after that her post had been made permanent. Elise held the job against herself and kept away from Blake at the office, and the two of them became more involved instead. Blake learned that Elise was two months pregnant. He took her back to his house and began spoiling her.
