The Destined One

Victoria is the head of an aristocratic family, and she has kept that from everyone around her, including Julian, the man she has been with for years. She turns down an arranged marriage to stay with him. On her way to see him she pulls Alexander Blackwood, a billionaire who runs his own company, out of an accident, and without knowing it she wakes the wolf-spirit mark he carries. The mark tells him she is his fated mate, and he proposes on the spot. She refuses him and goes on to Julian's party, which is being held to celebrate his promotion. The promotion was her work, arranged in secret. At the party Julian hands her a cheque to buy her out of his life. He plans to marry Chloe, whose father is an executive at Blackwood, because the marriage will secure his position. Victoria tells the room that she is the one behind everything he has achieved. Julian and the guests laugh at her and call her a delusional beggar. Security moves in to put her out, and Alexander bursts into the party in a rage.
