Chained Wings

Lucien is the Archangel; Draven rules the Fallen Angels, and the two have been enemies for as long as either has held the rank. On the Battlefield of Fallen Stars, Lucien has the killing blow and does not take it. Draven uses the pause to trap him and drags him down to the Dark Realm. There Draven breaks Lucien's white wings and puts him in a cage of meteoric iron. The confinement is continuous and so is the humiliation. Draven takes Lucien's body by force and leaves a mark of ownership on him. Rowan, who serves under Lucien, comes into the bedchamber and sees it, and the shame of being seen is worse than the cage. Lucien feigns unconsciousness and escapes. Every movement of his was already under Draven's control, so the escape ends where Draven decided it would. Recaptured, Lucien is branded with Draven's name and made to stand in front of a mirror and look at what he wants. He shouts Draven's name, and the last of his resistance goes.
