Final Pirouette, Final Fall

Wanda Shaw danced principal roles in ballet. Her son Henry was in the path of a car and she was hit pulling him clear, which broke her spine and left her without the use of her legs. She wanted to end things at first. Her husband Ian and Henry looked after her and talked her out of it, and over the next while she got back her interest in living. Time passed and the guilt the two of them felt turned into impatience with the care she needed. Wanda worked out that she had become a burden to them. Ian's secretary shaped what the two of them saw and thought, and neither of them noticed what state Wanda was in. A friend of Wanda's came to the door one day, and it was through her that Ian and Henry found out what they had done.
