The Anomaly: Surviving St. Agnes

Paranormal rules descend on the world and people are pushed into horror scenarios that operate on written instructions, where breaking a rule kills you. Logan Cole binds to a system that gives him an edge and is dropped into Sablemere Asylum, an old psychiatric hospital run as one of these trials. He reads the rules and follows them exactly. There is a wooden man game he has to get through, and he beats it by reasoning rather than force. There is a crisis in an operating room that he defuses. He stays calm in places that are designed to break calm. His teammates set him up and leave him exposed, and shadow creatures come at him in the dark, so he stops trusting anyone in the group. One guardian figure inside the asylum turns out to be on his side, and the two of them work together as the rule structure itself begins to break down around them, which makes the place more dangerous rather than less. He keeps solving what is in front of him and looking for the exit.
