Maid of Fate

Jane was governess to Mary's family in the first years of the twentieth century, and she killed them for their money. The fortune passed to her. Mary, the daughter of the house, was the one left alive. Jane married into the nobility afterward and settled in a castle. Years later a maid called Evelyn took a place in that castle. She was Mary under another name. She picked out Jane's son Sebastian and made a point of getting close to him. The two kept running into each other, and what began as a tactic on her side turned into feeling on both sides. While that went on she set schemes moving to wreck Jane's standing in society. Her feeling for Sebastian and her hatred for his mother pulled against each other, and she went on to frame Sebastian as well.
