God of Snow

The sun vanished long ago and the world settled into permanent winter. Fire is forbidden. The Snow God rules the frozen world through enormous Snow Dragons that patrol the sky and hunt down any trace of warmth, along with whoever produced it. Lyra, a girl in Winterfall, falls ill with a frost sickness that will kill her. Her father Aldric, who rules Winterfall, goes into the ruins of an old civilization where nobody is allowed to go and wakes a flame that has been out for a long time. The fire saves Lyra. Then the dragons come down on Winterfall, and Aldric stays behind so his daughter can get away. Kael, heir of Darkhold, watches the town go. He has had visions of fire for as long as he can remember. He starts digging into the forbidden history and comes to think the record has been falsified, and that fire was never the danger. What the Snow God is afraid of is people wanting warmth, hope and their freedom.
