Clara has been married to Julian for a year and he has not touched her in that time. She develops hypersexuality and goes to a doctor about it. The doctor is Killian, who runs a company as well as a practice, and he takes her through a full examination in a way that humiliates her. She goes home that night and reaches for Julian, who turns her down, and then she finds him satisfying himself over photographs of her half-sister Vivian. The next day Killian is introduced as the new head of her company. He moves her into the job of his personal assistant and leans on her condition, in what he says and in how he handles her. On a phone call from her own home, with Julian just outside the door, he pushes her until she loses control of herself. He gets more possessive after that. A friend of his takes an interest in Clara and it makes him jealous. At a gala he helps her with the zip of her dress and sets her off again.
