Chopping My Way to Immortality

Derek was the prodigy of Cloud Peak in the Celestial Sect. His fiancée and the son of one of the sect's masters set him up between them, his Core was destroyed, and he was sent down to Labor Peak to do the sect's menial work, chopping firewood. He was at his lowest point there when a system woke in him that turned every swing of the axe into cultivation power and handed out rewards on top. He got stronger fast and kept it to himself. Then the Jade Fortress came for the sect and nearly finished it. Derek went down the mountain alone and cut through the fighters the fortress sent, one after another. At the sect's martial tournament he beat the two people who had betrayed him and took his revenge. After that he kept pulling the sect out of trouble each time it was threatened, and he went on cultivating from woodcutter toward immortality.
