Clara broke her immortal bones and gave up her cultivation to marry a mortal emperor and become his queen. Her sister, who had ascended alongside her after the same tribulation, went on to the upper realm instead. The two of them had passed the tribulation together before that choice. Years later the sister came down from the heavens and found Clara chained beneath the Demon Suppressing Tower, her meridians cut, her body wasted, drained to keep the fortunes of the kingdom she had built. Her husband had crowned another woman queen. Her own children called her a demon. When she died the kingdom held celebrations. The sister sets out to make everyone who turned on Clara pay, and to protect what is left of her.
