Synopsis

There are hidden masters who decide which powerful families rise and which ones fall, and Sage Blackwell is one of them. He comes into ordinary life because a disciple of his died and asked one last thing of him. So he moves in with the Neills as a live-in son-in-law and for three years he keeps disaster off them. They mock him and give him a servant's work the whole time. When the three years are up he leaves without saying anything. The Neill fortune falls apart within a night. His ex-wife works out what he had been doing and asks him to come back.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
