Finn is engaged to Josephine Sinclair of the Sinclair family, under an arrangement made between the two households. A routine security check had turned up who he actually was not long before that. He had been an elite soldier, known as the king of the mercenaries, and he had wanted to be finished with fighting. Once he is around Josephine he sees how much of the danger near her is pointed at her on purpose, and he deals with it in his own way, using the methods from his old work. That pulls him into a conspiracy larger than anything inside the household. He has an answer for every move made against him and gets himself out of the situations he is put in.
