My Disciples Carried Me to Immortality

Sects in this world take in students and train them toward immortality, and getting accepted into one is how anybody starts. Elias Lark arrived from somewhere else meaning to do exactly that. A swindler took him instead to an illegal mine, where he spent five years digging. The system reached him at the end of those five years. Its terms are that he found a sect of his own and take in disciples who carry fortune, and what they gain pays him back in rewards and cultivation. The disciples he collects rise quickly. Elias stays below them, and the strength he shows outside the sect comes from prop cards the system hands him. In front of the disciples he keeps up the manner of an immortal standing far above them.
