Sequence 001: The Wasteland's Secret

Ye Lin lives in a wasteland where the Sanctum experiments on people. By day he is slow and mild and everyone calls him the fool, with a weak glow he can barely use. At night the power changes into something that takes light away entirely, and in that form he is called the god of the endless night. He was one of the Sanctum's test subjects, which is why Bai Ming, its saint, keeps hunting him. Su Qing is sent to watch him. Her own ability reads the composition of anything she looks at, including him, and at some point she stops reporting and starts travelling with him instead. Tie Hu, his sworn brother, fights beside them the whole way. Through a long run of trials Ye Lin fuses the faint light and the endless night into a single chaotic power and rises to lord of the endless night. Bai Ming merges with the lord of the abyss and becomes the god of the void, and the two of them meet for the last fight. Su Qing gives up her body for a soul symbiosis contract and merges into Ye Lin. Afterwards he puts down his divinity and goes back to an ordinary life, rebuilding a camp out in the wasteland, and her consciousness settles into his flashlight and stays beside him.
