Miss Schemer vs. Mr. CEO

Bella carries a list of the people she means to get even with. On it are the richest man in the city and the stepmother of her closest friend. The man's fiancée is the person Bella holds responsible for the tragedy in her past, and that makes him the one she has to reach. Bella has ability and no money. The friend was born into money and has lost all of it, and the stepmother on the list is hers. The two of them work out a plan under which Bella will make the man fall for her. She is fourteen years younger than he is, and at first he treats her as someone he ought to keep his hands off. She puts everything she has into the attempt, and the two of them go several rounds of bluff and counter-bluff. Over time he begins to give way to her intelligence and her nerve. The gap in money and standing between them is a separate matter, and both of them have to deal with it.
