The Serpent Queen's Rebirth

Aurelia is reborn into her old life in the palace. At a gathering she is denounced in front of the court as a serpent of mixed scales, and her father the king turns on her. She volunteers to go to the frozen wastes and be given up there as a sacrifice, to pay for what she is. At the temple there she meets a man she does not know. When she wakes there is a red snake mark on her wrist. She travels back to the palace alone, and on arrival she is accused of running from her sentence and condemned to burn. The fire is lit and it does not touch her. The court physician takes her pulse and tells the room she is pregnant.
