The Ashes of His Name

Audrey was James's girlfriend once, and he thought of her then as the one pure thing in his life. He finds her again dancing in a strip club, and the club belongs to Lawrence. Lawrence is the man James holds responsible for his father's murder. James has allowed Lawrence to become his stepfather so that he can get close enough to avenge the killing. He works inside Lawrence's operation, helps run the club, and keeps to the background. Audrey is working on Lawrence too. She dances for him and draws him in, and she is doing it deliberately, and if it works she will end up as James's stepmother. James sets out to find out what she is actually after, and the feelings from before are still there for both of them.
