Game Over, Ms. Social Climber

Hunter Lynn needs his mother's blessing before he can marry, so he sends his fiancée Iris Shaw and his assistant to the airport to collect Susan Carter, who is coming in from the countryside. Susan arrives early and goes shopping on her own. She and Iris end up in the same jewelry store, one owned by Hunter's own group, both wanting the same gold bracelet, and Iris has never seen her face. Iris takes in the plain clothes and decides what kind of woman this is. She takes the bracelet, insults her, and when Susan produces the black card Hunter gave her, Iris announces it is stolen. The store manager takes Iris's side and lets it turn physical. A saleswoman who steps in to help Susan is hurt and then fired for it. Susan finally says she is Hunter's mother. Iris and the assistant treat that as another lie and press harder, and in the middle of it the jade pendant Susan has kept as her only memento of her dead husband is broken. She collapses. Hunter reaches the store while his mother is on the floor and his fiancée is still standing over her.
