Something happened to Caspian's parents and he has never found out what. Chloe Brooks runs a pharmaceutical company and has developed DIVINIA, a drug that cures cancer. Men with money want it for what it would earn them, and they keep coming after her. What she cares about is keeping DIVINIA and her younger sister Iris safe. Caspian and Chloe meet, and the night ends with the two of them in bed. He is a special forces soldier, and the job he takes afterwards is protecting her, dangerous work he agrees to because of what it might tell him about his parents. He pulls her out of one attack, then another. Chloe has questions she cannot get answered, starting with where a bodyguard learned to fight like that.
