Ex-Convict Janitor and His Heiress

A rival fighter came to the dojo Jade's family ran, brought men with him, and pushed her into signing a seven-day life or death contract. Jade's older brother, Don Rossi, was in Dragon Prison and had not long left. On his last night there Don Rossi asked the man in his cell to look after her. That was Nick Hale, who had been in Dragon Prison ten years and was released the next morning. Nick went to the dojo and took work as the janitor, and nobody there knew anything else about him. Over the week before the duel he trained the dojo's old sweeper in private. On the seventh day the old man went into the ring against a fighter the rival's family had brought in from outside, one they called a God of War, and could not put him down. Nick came out of the disguise and took the old man's place in the ring.
