Nobody who deals with Liam knows he heads the Yama Guild. Wanda, who runs the Vermilion Bird Gang, walks into the wrong room on a night when he is holding down the ice poison in his body, and the two of them sleep together. He leaves a check behind for her afterwards, and she treats it as an insult from then on. He turns up later at an auction for the Dragon Blood Lingzhi. Men are sent after him and he puts them down, and he tears up an engagement contract he had been held to. He bids a billion for the lingzhi. Wanda pays for it ahead of him and then asks him to marry her on paper so her grandfather will be at ease. At the grandfather's birthday banquet Liam slaps his cousin, shows the room that the gifts the family brought are fakes, and quiets everyone with the Yama token. Sir Quinn goes down and Liam pulls the worm out of him with his bare hands. The two of them then keep to the terms they agreed on, and the ice poison in Liam eases off.
